John Conaway is driven by an insatiable curiosity for the arts, mathematics, and sciences.
John’s creativity is driven by the therapeutic component of creation. Curiosity drives the creation of most images. There is one in particular that has captivated Mr. Conaway for decades and that is an image called “Metatron’s Cube”.
John resides in the Southwestern United States. A Tucson Native, John is surrounded by natural desert beauty:
He grew up riding horses and exploring the desert wilderness. This inspired his first major artistic learning experience. He began taking “art photo’s” at a very young age, and his photography work continues to be among the most popular images he creates.
John is one of those life long creatives… the type to view math, science, human motion to be arts in addition to the “conventional” artistic pursuits John holds a Black Belt rank in Original Method Kajukenbo.
John Conaway spent 20 years as a full time accountant, and strange enough he loved it. With a strong curiosity for history John looked into the history of mathematics and found that the first math was used to account for property… accounting was the original. Never good at calculation John turned to computer programing to solve and process high volumes of data analysis and accounting activities. As a result John is a self taught computer developer and programmer, a skill he uses to create “Full digital” artwork.
Having severe learning disabilities growing up John did not get the opportunity to study physics growing up, this has led to yet another strong curiosity. With some luck, he was a natural with geometry and is able to understand things best in a geometric context. From this emerge his Mandalas. When facing a major system challenge John will spend hours drawing mandalas while meditating on the details of administering accounting systems…. but he also draws them for fun:).
